.: Pay it Forward

Our 2011 Pay it forward event will be held Saturday December 3rd from 9am - 1pm.

Dropoffs for community donations will be Saturdays November 19th, and 26th from 9-noon.

The words Thank You seem somehat fallow when you talk about the event that was held here on December 4th, 2010. Through the generosity of the community, and with a little help from local media affiliates Fox59, and K-LOVE, along wih Tri-West High School, and others, the 2010 Pay it Forward event was not only a huge success, but exceeded the expectations of everyone involved.

.: A Word about our Pastor

  Mark Wingler, widely known as Racer Rev throughout the Indy Racing League community, has taken a new green flag in his life.  Since 2004, Mark has been the Senior Pastor at The Journey Church in Brownsburg, Indiana, which is open to all denominations.

            Mark founded the IRL Ministry and served as Pastor to the IRL community for seven years.  Working closely with drivers, owners and crew members, he created a congregation within the garage area, hosted bible studies in race shops and genuinely touched the lives of many through Jesus Christ.

            “The Indy Racing League was an incredible experience for me.  Most people don’t realize the true sense of family that exists in racing and to have been a part of that has blessed our lives in ways beyond measure.  But as incredible as an experience it was, I am equally certain that we will enjoy serving the family of God at The Journey Church.  This is a passionate congregation here, and I look forward to serving with them.”

            Mark is a 1978 graduate of Greenville College in southern Illinois and an Indianapolis native, began his professional career in commercial insurance.  After 13 years of promotions and then developing his own agency in South Bend, Mark rededicated his life to the Lord, becoming a lay leader in the Gospel Center Missionary Church.  In 1990, Mark relocated to Brownsburg, Indiana to open an Indianapolis office for one of the largest Insurance Agency’s in the state. He began teaching an Adult Bible Fellowship class at the Brownsburg Christian Church.  It was there that Mark felt the “call” to go into full-time ministry.  In 1992 he joined the staff of Brownsburg Christian Church as the Minister of Groups and Nurture.  Later he started teaching Bible studies in race shops and in 1996, when the Indy Racing League was formed, Mark left his position at the church to develop the IRL Ministry.

            Given Mark’s incredible entrepreneurial talents, the congregation at The Journey Church wants to truly serve the community of Brownsburg.
